On March 9, 2018, President XU Zhenhua attended the 120th Anniversary Opening Ceremony, as an invited guest, and gave a speech entitled “Teaching French in China: Current Situation and Future Prospects” in which he introduced Zhejiang Shaoxing Foreign Languages University which has been putting much emphasis on the quality undergraduate programs and their characteristics, as well as on his thoughts on training and producing graduates with international outlooks who can directly participate in international collaborations and competition with well-balanced competencies and abilities.

To XU’s immediate right: Ms. Leila Slimani, the 2016 winner of the prestigious Le Prix Goncourt Literary Award, and the Global French Language Special Envoy, appointed by Emmanuel Macron, President of France.
