From March 24 to 25 – A delegation led by Prof. Dr. Metin Orbay, Vice President of Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University (HBV) in Türkiye, visited Zhejiang Yuexiu University.

President Yong Heming extended a warm welcome to Vice President Metin Orbay and the delegation. He noted that the two universities share highly compatible educational philosophies, both offering multilingual programs and demonstrating distinctive strengths in the fields of humanities and social sciences as well as economics and management. With similar academic advantages and development goals, the two institutions are well positioned to pursue substantive and in-depth international cooperation.

Prof. Metin Orbay spoke highly of ZYU’s achievements in internationalization and overall development. He introduced the history and growth of HBV and expressed his hope that the two universities would establish comprehensive and multi-level cooperation in areas such as program development, artistic exchange, academic cooperation, and faculty exchange. He conveyed strong confidence in the prospects for future cooperation between the two institutions.

During the visit, the delegation toured the university library, the campus history museum, and the student entrepreneurship park. At the Turkish Culture Salon, the delegation had friendly talks with teachers and students majoring in Turkish and enjoyed traditional Chinese art performances by students. In addition, four exchange students from HBV participated in the event. They shared that studying Chinese at ZYU has significantly improved their language proficiency while allowing them to experience the unique charm of Chinese culture firsthand. Prof. Metin Orbay encouraged the students to strive to become experts in intercultural communication and to take on the mission of promoting cultural exchange between China and Türkiye.
