From April 10 to 27, a delegation of Russian youth visited Zhejiang Yuexiu University for a 15-day study tour. Nearly 200 young participants gathered on campus, engaging in immersive Chinese language learning and cultural experiences. They also explored Shaoxing, experiencing its rich heritage and distinctive cultural charm.

On campus, the students took part in a variety of vibrant cultural courses, including fun-filled Chinese language classes, elegant calligraphy lessons, martial arts training that blends strength and grace, and captivating Chinese dance lessons.

Beyond the classroom, the delegation explored the ancient city of Shaoxing, strolling along its waterways and historic bridges, lingering in traditional streets, and sharing their observations and experiences. Through these activities, they were able to closely experience the historical fabric of this thousand-year-old city and appreciate the folk customs of Yue and architectural beauty of the Jiangnan region. The students also visited local industries such as Huangjiu (Chinese rice wine), silk, and pearls, witnessing the integration of traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation and experiencing the city’s dynamic vitality rooted in cultural heritage.

This study tour has not only enriched ZYU’s international education practices but also further strengthened the friendship and exchanges between Chinese and Russian youth. ZYU will continue to leverage its strengths in foreign language education and internationalization by actively building platforms for global youth exchange. Through diverse approaches such as curriculum exchange, cultural exploration, and on-site study tours, it aims to foster mutual understanding and connection among young people worldwide and promote the high-quality development of international cooperation and exchange.
