On October 30, the ceremony to mark the 40th anniversary of Zhejiang Yuexiu University (ZYU) was held on its Jinghu campus. Leaders, guests, alumni at home and abroad and faculty, students meet online and onsite to celebrate together the 40th birthday of ZYU. President Xu Zhenhua chaired the ceremony.

“After 40 years’development, Zhejiang Yuexiu University is becoming an application-oriented, internationalized and high-level private university with distinctive characteristics and The Shaoxing Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government have incorporated ZYU's action plan and goal into the overall development of Shaoxing. I expect faculty and students of ZYU to shoulder the historical responsibility entrusted by this new era.”said Hu Min, deputy mayor of Shaoxing Municipal People's government, in her speechat the opening session.

Mr Hu Baifan, Chair of Board of Trustees, looked back on the development of ZYU and reaffirmed his ambition of building ZYU into a prestigious and time-honored private university of China.

The celebration ceremony and a get-together party were two major activities on that day.

On the same day, the 20th Asian University Presidents Forum kicked off in ZYU where scholars discussed with 72 experts from 18 countries and regions about issues related to establishing the Asian higher education community in the post-epidemic Era.
